Kyle Macintosh: A True Forever Buff



Kyle Macintosh – Best defined as a son, brother, track star, best friend to many and inspiration to all who knew him. During times of heartbreak, it is necessary to match mourning with happy remembrance. After a 13-month battle against cancer, Kyle’s battle ended, but not in desperation; Buffs on the track team continued to remind the CU community of Kyle’s legacy that is marked by happiness, positivity and love. A celebration of life was hosted by a number of his track teammates/best friends on Saturday evening that featured a frame that was signed by those who attended and filled with memories of Kyle.


Again on Monday evening Kyle’s family and friends carried out a planned candle light vigil on the CU practice track. Each and every candle lit on Monday evening represented the light that he brought to the lives of everyone he met. The group of attendees, which was well over one hundred people, watched as Tyler Baker, Shaw Gifford, and Garrett Losty ran the 400-meter relay, Kyle’s favorite race. The final lap was lead by Kyle’s father, followed by friends and family.
